An update on USA import tariffs

As you probably know, new import tariffs have recently been applied to goods entering the USA. Unfortunately, this has increased the cost of sending our products across the Atlantic.

We wish this wasn’t the case, but we can’t absorb these additional charges within the postage we originally set.

If you’ve ordered scarves, you’ll soon receive an email from us asking for a small top-up payment to cover the tariff cost. Once paid, we’ll get your order sent from the tartan mill as soon as we can.

If you’ve ordered a kilt (or a kilt and a scarf together), your tariff payment will be handled directly by DHL, who will contact you when your parcel is ready for delivery. We’ll keep you updated on when dispatch is likely to take place, but please also keep an eye out for any messages from DHL just in case.

The email about scarves will come from witchesofscotland@gmail.com, and the payment link will take you to our secure checkout.

To reassure you this request is genuine, we’ve shared this update here on our website so you can see exactly what’s happening and why.

Questions you may have

Can I cancel instead?
Yes, if you prefer not to pay the top-up, we’ll issue a full refund. Please contact us at witchesofscotland@gmail.comor use our website contact form, and provide your name, address, and order number if you have it available.

Can I use a different courier?
We’ve looked into alternatives, but none can deliver to the USA at a lower total cost.

Can I change my address to the UK or Canada?
Yes, if you let us know promptly. Please note that Canada Post has experienced some delivery delays recently due to industrial action.

Can I wait and pay the tariff when my parcel reaches the USA?
Unfortunately not. Our carrier (Royal Mail) doesn’t support that option for US deliveries.

When do I need to respond by?
If we don’t hear from you by 31 December, we’ll assume you’d prefer a refund, which we’ll process in early January.

We’re truly sorry for this inconvenience, and we deeply appreciate your patience and understanding while we navigate these new rules.
